EVERETT STEELHEAD AND SALMON CLUB BOARD MEETING AUGUST 7, 2008
OPENING: Ben Bear was in charge tonight as David was absent and opened the meeting at 7:00. The minutes were read by Brett and approved as read. Ben gave the Treasurers report as Rich was not available. Ben gave a report on the Membership as Buz was not in attendance. We gained three new members but also lost three and we stand at 142 members.
MEMEBERS PRESENT: Ben Bear, Carl Rienstra, Walter Eckman, Jack Blair, Henry McCormick, John Kulgis, Jim Brauch, Mike Harding, Bill Bourgeois, Brett Simbe, John Wayne
OLD BUSINESS: Bill reported that he awarded $374.00 worth of prizes at the Picnic Raffle in July and had $274 remaining. He added that he had shopped at Jerry’s for some items for the upcoming raffles but since items are AS IS he was reluctant to purchase some of the larger items where this might become and issue. Van was not available and had emailed her report to Ben but he was unable to open it. B en reported that Joel Shangle from Northwest Wild Country will be our speaker for the August general meeting. Walt said there was no Port of Everett meeting. No Snohomish County Sportsmen’s Association report as Woody was not in attendance. Carl reported that the CCA Executive Director has stepped down and there is a search for his replacement. Gary Loomis will be speaking on August 20th at 7:00 at the North River Marine location in Marysville on the formation of a new chapter of CCA . He said the Coho Derby final details were almost set as 3 Rivers Marine has committed on the donation of a boat package and there will be a $25,000.00 prize if the right tagged fish is caught during the Coho Derby on September 20th and 21st. In other derby news the Edmonds Derby is September 6th and the Blind Derby is on September 14th. Jim Brauch said there was no PSA meeting and the ESSC Youth Organization has some details to be completed by Van. Mike said that he is working on our trailer to improve the chutes to make the off loading an easier process. Ben adjourned the meeting at 7:30. |
