  • Region 1 - Gold River

    Gold River:Downstream of Muchalat River, including tributaries but excluding Muchalat River and Heber River.

    Closed to fishing Dec 1 to May 31

    Effective December 1, 2018



  • Region 1 - Vancouver Island: San Juan River

    San Juan River: From the hatchery counting fence downstream approximately 150 m to square white boundary signs on either side of the river, and that portion of the Fairy Lake tributary approximately 5 m downstream of the hatchery holding pens, indicated by square white boundary signs.

    This body of water opened to fishing in accordance with the 2017-2019 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis

    Effective October 6, 2018



  • Region 4 - Duncan River

    Duncan River

    Downstream of the confluence with the Lardeau River: Rainbow trout release, bull trout daily quota = 2 (any size), bait ban, EXEMPT from regional Nov 1-Mar 31 bull trout release.

    Removal of no fishing regulation:
    Downstream of the confluence with the Lardeau River Nov 1-Feb 28 and Apr 1-Oct 14

  • Region 4 - Kootenay Lake - Main Body

    Kootenay Lake - Main Body:

    Rainbow trout release north of a line between fishing boundary signs posted at Lost Ledge Creek & Salisbury Creek, Feb 1-June 10

    Removal of no fishing regulation:
    North of a line between fishing boundary signs posted at Argenta and Mosquito Landing

    AND

    North of a line between fishing boundary signs posted at Lost Ledge Creek and Salisbury Creek, Feb 1-June 10

    Water In-season Change Effective Dates
    Thompson River:
    • downstream of signs at Kamloops Lake outlet to the confluence withFraser River
    Lengthen no fishing season from Nov 1 – May 31 to Oct 1 – May 31 October 1, 2018
    Thompson River:
    • from Hwy 99 bridge at Lillooet downstream approximately 1.2 km to BC Hydro’s tail race outflow channel
    • from the confluence with Thompson River to the CNR bridge approximately 1 km downstream
    Lengthen no fishing season from Nov 1 – May 31 to Oct 1 – May 31 October 1, 2018


  • Region 5 - Cariboo: Horsefly River

    Horsefly River from Quesnel Lake to the Woodjam Bridge:

    Opened to fishing in accordance with the 2017-2019 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis.

    Effective August 31, 2018



  • Region 5 - Cariboo: Horsefly River

    Horsefly River from Quesnel Lake to the Woodjam Bridge:

    No fishing

    Effective August 15, 2018 until further notice



  • Region 5 - Cariboo: Hathaway Lake, lake trout release

    Hathaway Lake:

    Lake trout release

    Effective Apr 1, 2018



  • Region 5 - Cariboo: Abbot Lake: No ice fishing and changes to trout/char quota

    Abbot Lake:

    No ice fishing

    Trout/char daily quota = 1 (none under 50 cm)

  • Region 5 - Cariboo: Greenlee Lake: No ice fishing, change to trout/char quota, and hook restriction

    Greenlee Lake:

    No ice fishing

    Trout/char daily quota = 1 (none under 50 cm)

    Single barbless hook only

  • Region 4 - Kootenay: Kootenay Lake - Upper West Arm, Kokannee release changes

    Kootenay Lake - Upper West Arm:

    Kokanee release all year, EXCEPT April 1- 3, May1-3 , June 1-3 and July 1-3

    NOTE: The combined daily quota for kokanee from the Upper West Arm (when open to kokanee harvest) and the Lower West Arm (when open to kokanee harvest) cannot exceed 5.
